Award winning Ashtead Players have been established for over 70 years and pride ourselves in providing entertainment of a high standard to the local community and beyond. We stage two productions a year at the Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Woodfiield Lane, Ashtead, Surrey, KT21 2BE. The productions are in April and November and we often participate in the Leatherhead Drama Festival. When possible we also stage a joint production including both Ashtead Players and Young Astead Players at a very popular informal evening including a Fish and Chip Supper. This production is usually in October.
Our hard work has earned us accolades from our audiences and NODA with awards for our productions of Shadowlands and Separate Tables. In 2005 we won the Sir Michael Caine Drama Award at Leatherhead Drama Festival with Agnes of God and the Richard Houghton Award for set design and costumes with our production of Footprints in the Sand.
Our members are of all ages and from all walks of life. They give their time freely as volunteers. They enjoy taking part in all activities involved in staging a play such as building the set, organising props, sound and lighting, costumes and front of house, as well as acting and directing.
If you can do any of the above. Whatever your skills, at whatever level, join us and enjoy the process.
